SATS stock (Oslo): support at 45.65 kroner became resistance

A level that broke after two weeks, not two years, and a neighbor that did the same right after.

Every figure below was measured on September 28, 2026 and has not been updated since.

SATS reached a high of 47.45 kroner in the week starting 17 August. Five weeks later price stands at 42.40.

You may have seen someone say the stock "hit resistance around 45-46". Does that mean anything, or did somebody draw a line where the price happened to turn?

45.65 kroner was tested twice in August, and broke on 24 August. The week after, price came back and was stopped there again. Two weeks after that, the neighboring level at 44.72 did the same, and both have held as a ceiling since.

The rest of this post is the evidence for those three sentences. Every price is a weekly close, which is where SATS ended the week on a Friday.

First: what support is

A price where buyers have turned up before and stopped a fall. Resistance is the same thing upside down: a price where sellers have turned up and stopped a rise.

That is the whole definition. A separate post covers why these areas exist at all, if you want that part.

The hard bit comes next. Which ones matter?

Most lines mean nothing

The weekly chart looks back two years. On it there are 23 prices you could draw a line at, and price has turned at every one of them at some point.

But price has gone straight back through ten of those, between three and thirteen times each, and seven more were never counted as levels at all. 17 of the 23 can be ignored.

The monthly chart looks back ten years. It finds 32 lines and trusts two of them.

This is the part most people have backwards. More lines do not mean firmer ground. Usually they mean price has moved through that area easily.

Two columns on one price axis, one for the weekly chart and one for the monthly. Solid marks are levels that have held, faint marks are every other line. The weekly column has three levels just above price and three far below; the monthly column has two, both far below, and nothing above.
One price axis, two charts, measured separately.

The weekly chart's six trusted levels split into two clusters. Three sit just above price: 44.72, 45.65 and 47.45. Three sit far below: 33.50, 25.25 and 24.80. Nothing sits near price itself.

The monthly chart trusts two, both far below: 24.80 and 6.50. Above its own last close, it does not have a single line to show.

24.80 shows up on both charts, worked out separately: the weekly chart's two years and the monthly chart's ten. Two charts agreeing is the strongest evidence a level can get, even one this far from where price is now.

That gives a plain comparison: far below price, the two charts agree that nothing has held recently. Just above price, only the weekly chart has anything to measure against, and that is where the story is.

What made 45.65 matter

45.65 has crossed only twice in the two years the weekly chart covers. Both crossings came this year, six weeks apart.

The week starting 10 August reached the band for the first time and closed at 44.75, below it. The week after, starting 17 August, price went past it: it reached a high of 47.45 (the highest line the chart trusts) and closed at 46.95, above 45.65 but below 47.45.

SATS's weekly closes from August to September 2026, with a horizontal area at 45.65 kroner drawn on it. Price approaches the area twice, closes below it in the week starting 24 August, and a week later is stopped at the same area again.
Price approached the area twice. In August it closed below, and was stopped there again.

Then, in August, it came back below

The week starting 24 August opened at 46.90, close to where the prior week closed, then fell to 44.60 during the week and closed at 45.15. That is the second crossing, and the one that flipped the level: price was now back below 45.65, and the line stood as a ceiling instead of a floor.

That is 0.29 times the volume of a normal week for this stock, well below its own trailing-year average. Whether a break on lighter volume behaves differently afterwards than one on more has not been measured here, so this post states the number and stops there.

And then the interesting part

The week after, starting 31 August, price came back up to exactly 45.65 as the week's high, and closed at 45.45, below again. First retest, and the level held.

Two weeks after that, in the week starting 7 September, a second level broke at almost the same price: 44.72 (44.60–44.85). It has crossed the same number of times, counted on its own, and carries the same status now: retested, and resistance. Two lines, three weeks apart, that both gave way and have both held as a ceiling since.

And it matters who is standing there. Everyone who bought around 45-46 kroner in August is down on the trade. If price climbs back, that is where they can sell and break even. So there are real people in that area, with a reason. That is what a level is made of.

Where price is now

The last weekly close is 42.40. The nearest level the weekly chart trusts above price is 44.72, 5.5% away. Next comes 45.65, the level that just broke. Below price the nearest is 33.50, 21% away, more than three times as far.

The monthly chart's last settled month is August, which closed at 45.10. Below that sits 24.80, 45% away. Above it, the chart has nothing.

The two charts do not disagree, they simply see different things. Far below price, neither finds anything that has held recently. Just above price, only the weekly chart has anything to measure against, and that is the two levels that just broke.

What 45.65 is good for

45.65 tells you nothing about where price is going. It tells you where you would notice if the picture changed.

17 of the 23 lines on the weekly chart can be ignored. Ten of them price has gone through three times or more, and seven more were never counted as levels at all. Of the six left, three sit just above price and three far below. Knowing which is most of the work.

And one thing would cancel the whole reading: a weekly close back above 45.65. That puts price back above both levels. You would see it yourself, on a Friday, without anyone telling you.

You may have noticed this post never says which way the price goes next. Here is why. 1,350 breaks have been measured across the site's companies, and whether the level held or not, the twelve weeks afterwards look the same as any random week. Anyone who tells you different is guessing.

You will find the same zones, kept current, under support and resistance for SATS stock.
